The birth of Caret turtle hatchlings (Careta Careta) on Creta

Previous

One doesn't often see the birth of caret turtles (Careta Careta) on a beach on Crete. Among others the intrusion by tourists who occupy their beaches make this species endangered. It is protected and very well taken care of by the volunteers of the Greek organization Archelon (www. archelon.gr) who helped these little turtles to get out of their eggs and find their way into their natural habitat: the Mediterranean. About 20 years later a miracle happens: the female turtles return to her birthplace to drop her eggs for a new generation.
